And here we sit
We talk and laugh
And we smile through the pain

Covering the soul
Hiding our truth
Seeing ourselves through the outside in

A crisp white wine
A crystal glass
Red lipstick marks on the rim

The candle flickers
The heat clicks on
And here we sit

The minutes tick by
The years travel on
A clink of a glass

A grave to visit
A glass to raise
I'll put my red lipstick on

And we move and glide
Stumble crumble and fall
The glass will shatter eventually

A shining veneer
A crumbling below
Hide it when you can

Truth will find you
It always wins in the end
No matter where you go, there you are

And here we sit
While the ice melts
Children grow up

War is raging, did you know?
We forget I think
Eleven years too long

And here we sit
Talk, laugh, spit and shine
Cover the grays, spackle the lines

I'll drink to that
With my red lipstick on
A crisp white wine

Fill it to the brim
I drink to you
I drink to me

Forty years gone
And here I sit
With my red lipstick on

I have no idea where this came from.  It just appeared here on my screen as a flow of consciousness.  It means nothing I think.  Although, I am wearing my red lipstick.
