The Story of a Pit Bull Puppy named Patrick
There was a link posted on the Masslive.com Pets Forum about a puppy Pit Bull that was starved and then literally thrown out into the garbage. This happened on March 16th. The pup was still alive in the garbage bag and a maintenance man saw movement in the bag. Upon opening it, he discovered an emaciated and nearly dead puppy inside.
The pup has since been named Patrick and is slowly coming back to life. His story is here. I linked to the most recent photos of him, but if you are so inclined there are links along the side to see him when he was discovered. The oldest photos are very, very graphic - you've been warned.
These stories always beg the questions:
Is the risk of a fine and possible few weeks in jail really enough for these sick people?
If animal cruelty is a pre-cursor to violence/child abuse... shouldn't these people be placed in a database with social services?
There needs to be more done.
