Breeder Beater

So, I've been looking and researching minivans for about a year now. Sad? Yes. I took the plunge yesterday and brought home a 2000 Toyota Sienna. Now, before I go any further you need to understand how utterly cursed I am when it comes to vehicles. This is my 19th vehicle since 1992. I have owned almost every major make of car known to man. It's easier to say I haven't owned a Honda. Other than that I've probably had one. Here, let me see if I can remember:

1. Chevy Chevette 1980. Paid $350.00. Floor was like Fred Flintstones.

2. Ford Escort 1989(?) free... gift from my mother in law. Totalled in an accident.

3. Chrysler Town and Country station wagon. 1980-something. $1200. It talked to you. The entire front end caved in... yes, caved in. It was Christmas Eve, snow storm, 10 month old in back seat.

4. Cadillac Sedan Deville 1979. $800. Yep, pimp mobile. Tranny went... junked.

Here's where it gets shady.

I know we were given a Ford Grand Torino(?), had a Nova, Plymouth Horizon, Dodge Aries, Trans Am (loved that car), Chevy Blazer (great story there), Kia (brand new, biggest piece of cheap crap in the world), Chevy Beretta (loved that car), Olds Cutlass Supreme(?) wagon (huge car), 2 VW Cabriolets, Buick Regal, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Volvo Wagon.

So, I know I skipped some. Other than a couple of those, I paid less than $1000 for nearly all. If you ever want a little advice on what's easy to fix, what stinks in the rain, how not to buy a car, how to properly buy a car (I think I got it right this time!).... drop me a line!

I have owned the Toyota (note my first Toyota!) for less than 24 hours. I loved the handling on it, the super quiet ride (unless JP is crying), and the surprisingly quick acceleration. Hopefully all the research will pay off. From what I learned, the best minivans are Honda Odyssey's and Toyota Sienna's. Try to find a used Honda... near impossible and you'll pay top dollar.

The girls are going to be surprised, they have no idea about it! hahahaaa!

Okay, that's my story and I"m sticking to it.
