Bits and Pieces

Not feeling like working too much today. So, I'll post! Some bits and pieces:

Having a family meeting with the girls their dad. Working out a new schedule for when they're with me and their dad. I'm thinking this new schedule is a win-win-win-win situation and feeling much better.

Waiting to hear about a loan for animation school for Aaron. I've never wanted anything so badly for someone else in my life.

JP is better, but Seth is sick. Actually, he seems better today. Fever broke last night so that's a good sign. Here's hoping he will be back to daycare tomorrow. My poor mom has been running to my house everyday to help with these sick kids.

A bit more on the JP-man: During his first speech therapy session, the occ. therapist noticed some red flags concerning his behaviors. Long, long story short: he is displaying some pretty typical behaviors found in kids with Sensory Processing Disorder. The therapist was concerned enough to mention that these red flag behaviors are also found in children with budding Aspberger's Syndrome. I didn't really agree with the AS, but the SPD makes sense to me.

Right now, he is going to see his speech therapist every Friday. The EI program is going to have a sensory specialist come see him and do an evaluation. In June we see his pediatrician and will consult with her to see if an appointment with a developmental pediatrician is warranted.

Whew.

One day at a time. That's what I keep telling myself. I don't see him as an Aspy. He is too affectionate and too loving. He's goofy and silly and he sings and he dances. Just don't feed him meat or anything green or orange or red (except ketchup). Mac and cheese is good. Bananas are great. American cheese is also good. And definitely do not mess up his schedule!

Kids. Every day is an adventure and this one looks like one I'd really rather not go on. Last night I closed my eyes and I told myself:

Whatever it is, God made him this way for a reason. And He doesn't give his special ones to just anyone.

I think some of you reading this will understand that perfectly.

On an entirely different spectrum of important topics, I bought myself the cutest fricken shoes at Marshall's! I lost 7 pounds and treated myself to 2 new pairs of shoes, new capri's and a couple shirts. And I totally deserve it. Hmph.

Speaking of shopping.... I get to FINALLY meet Heather and her boys in just over a week! Woo hooo! Totally excited Heather! Our boys are only 10 days apart in age, so this will be sooo fun!

Another get together that I went on this past weekend involved 6 Golden Retrievers under the age of 1. A bunch of people from my hometown bought puppies from the same family/litter. Soooo, we all met at the local dog park and let them play together. If you have never seen 6 GR's play together.... it's something I totally recommend.
They had a blast! Clancy jumped right into the pond and swam around. He slept all the way home.

Okay, gotta do some work.
