Jenny Cures Something - but is it Autism?
Jenny McCarthy is all over the place. I like what she is saying. I like that she is bringing the issue into the open. I just wish that people would also know that the GFCF diet doesn't work in every case. I remember when I found out about the GFCF diet and the amazing stories of recovery I read online, watched YouTube videos of children coming alive from a near comatose state.
Yes, it works for some. And for others.... you spend about $100 more per week on one child's groceries. You make lists, you buy a bread machine and make disgusting bread. You join online groups and mailing lists. You spend about 2 - 3 hours in the grocery store reading labels. You go to at least 3 grocery stores every week to get your shopping done. You make little metal notes of good days and meltdowns. You journal and you hope and you pray and you make the same deals with God that she did.
And sooner or later, you realize that you can't cure him. And once again, it all crashes down.
My son didn't get autism from his vaccine. And I'm not so sure that anyone does. I do think that the metals affect some kids horribly and it looks a whole lot like autism. But, no... I don't think they are necessarily the same thing. Let me explain....
In my learning about vaccines for my dog I learned about the damage many of them do. Over vaccinating for rabies can result in behavior changes. Aggressiveness, perseveration on a toy, obsessive behaviors over licking, pacing, some dogs have physical reactions that result in seizures and so on and so forth. A lot of those symptoms look a lot like doggie autism doesn't it??
Lyme's disease vaccine is about 65% effective. It also infects thousands and thousands of dogs with a disease that looks like, acts like and replicates Lyme's Disease in every way. But it isn't exactly Lyme's. Dogs will even test slightly positive for Lyme's. They will limp and they will get fevers. But nothing helps them get better. Lyme's Disease itself actually responds better to treatment than this manufactured virus.
My point is this: vaccines are doing something. And this needs investigating. I agree 110%. But do they cause Autism Spectrum Disorder? I don't think so. I it creates a whole new illness, virus, disorder... whatever you want to call it. And when the vaccines do this to a child, that child can then be cured by removing the metals or by adhering to a strict diet. Children born with autism though... I'm not so sure the diet would work.
All that being said, I think if you're a parent of a child with this you're probably willing to try anything. And I think its necessary. I can't imagine NOT trying. I'm glad I did it. But what if you just don't have the money to do this? We didn't. We fell way behind in bills, I had the cable shut off and the internet.
So, I applaud Jenny McCarthy. And I am deeply thankful for her work and her dedication. She is smart and certainly a Black Belt.
